Summer in Sonoma County means farmers markets, outdoor concerts, and weekend fairs with food trucks lined up at the edge of the lawn. One of the newer trucks worth tracking down this season is SABOR, the food truck launched by Sonoma Family Meal in February 2026.

Where to Find SABOR this Summer

Signature sandwiches ($15-$16):
Haitian Griot Banh Mi (dairy-free): Haitian Kreyol marinated pork shoulder or chicken, pikliz slaw, garlic mayo, and fresh herbs on a toasted baguette
Spicy Thai Chicken Sandwich (dairy-free): Thai marinated grilled chicken or tofu, spicy mayo, somtom (papaya slaw), and cilantro
Middle Eastern Sandwich: ground lamb, tahini yogurt, cucumber, tomato, Kalamata olive tapenade, and feta on housemade pita

Haitian Griot Bowl (gluten-free): the same Kreyol pork or chicken over white rice, beans, pikliz slaw, and garlic crema

A Rotating Global Cuisine
The rotating menu reflects the global backgrounds of SFM's students and alumni, featuring dishes such as Haitian pork sandwiches and Jordanian-inspired mezze, alongside other internationally influenced offerings. The truck grew directly out of SFM's student-run Sabor pop-up, which operated from the organization's kitchen and showcased dishes inspired by students' cultural heritage, and its popularity sparked the idea to expand into a mobile operation that creates a revenue-generating venture while deepening training and employment opportunities for students and graduates.
In plain terms: the recipes come from the people cooking them, and every truck shift is also a paid training shift.
