Since October 2017 Sonoma Family Meal has received help from more than 1,000 volunteers. We continue to need volunteers to cook in our Petaluma kitchen help pack up meals and hand out meals to our families.

Here are some of the things we always need help with…

Practice Your Knife Skills
SATURDAY: 12pm to 4pm in North Petaluma (N McDowell Blvd). Tasks include cooking, dishwashing, kitchen help for our Chef, Heather Ames. You’ll leave knowing you’ve made delicious meals for our families and have fun doing it. A great opportunity for couples or visitors to Sonoma County. Typically 4-7 hands needed weekly.

Get Packing
MONDAY: 11:30am to 2pm in Santa Rosa (North Dutton). You’ll get to work in a well-known restaurant kitchen helping us package up the meals and make them look pretty! You’ll need to dress the part, meaning closed-toed, slip-resistant shoes, an apron and a hairnet (just kidding, you can wear a fashionable cap or scarf). Don’t be surprised if a little singing breaks out while we work. Or not. Typically 6 hands needed weekly.

Greet Our Guests
MONDAY: 2pm to 6pm in Santa Rosa (North Dutton). From 4pm to 6pm we welcome our families to pick up their meals. You’ll help pack food into our cooler bags, hand out the bags, occasionally help someone to their car and generally make folks feel welcome. We have a number of longtime volunteers here, but always welcome new faces.

We love our volunteers and have a lot of fun. If you’d like to spend some time with the SFM crew, sign up by clicking on the button below.
